Ho Pin

In July, I wrote a post entitled "Politicians' Blogs". In it, I compared two blogs - the first by the Indonesian Defence Minister Juwono Sudarsono, and the second by PAP Member of Parliament Teo Ho Pin. Basically, I concluded that Ho Pin's blog was disappointing.

Today - well, see what happened. I wonder if this has anything to do with me. Did I just chase the PAP off the Internet?

Maybe poor Mr. Teo is oh sooo busy recently...

Or more likely, he has been enlightened of this wisdom:

"If you can't take the heat, get the fuck out of the kitchen."

What really is the purpose of a minister's blog? To me, it's just PR tool if it's not 'interactive', that is you can't post your comments and have them replied personally by the blogger.

Mr Wang,

I think Teo is going for a mega re-branding exercise ;)

Need to be more hip and happening.

I think George Yeo should do the same too.

His "plans within plans within plans" attempt at blogging, as the don't know what Brotherhood calls it, is more boring than looking at his picture.

Hi,
Did anyone say anything to upset Mr. Teo , I wonder?

Anyway, whatever the ulterior motives of the gahment minister's blogs, I welcome them. Even if it is a PR spin-job, those of us who want to, can try to engage them and get some sort of dialogue going. Not the BS feedback unit stuff that probably just gets chucked into some black hole or some wormhole that ends up in the Gamma Quadrant!

Who knows, any publicity produced will attract more eyeballs to posts like Mr. Wang's and the silent majority ( non-netizens) will get to see how pleasant and reasonable, people like Wang or Whispers are.

Anyway it was poor sport of Mr. Teo to turn tail so quickly. Sheesh!

Dr Huang,

you give me too much credit for being reasonable!

But, I am pleasant :)

However, I feel that if I was a minister (and a male) and knowing that my blog will attract many comments (unless I'm low profile as an ant), I will have enough balls to make known my intentions or to explain why I would not be replying to comments or questions in my blog.

I think that's basic courtesy ...

Mr Yeo seems very happy rattling away to himself. Or he expects all of us to behave like those AOs in the CS who only read with full admiration and wonder at his super intelligence.

I don't think we'll be getting any dialogue at the rate it's going.

But, I do demand the basic courtesy from a minister, no less.

Hi Mr. Wang,
I must come to my own defence.
I feel like someone hit me and I don't know what for.
What makes the venerable Mr. Wang ( who bakes Karma- whatever that means), think that just because I am a doctor who regularly reads his blog, I should be some sort of authority on fellatio and balls?
WTF!!!
Ha ha!
To mention my name in the same breath as sex, make me feel so ...eh Dirty! ( ooh.. I think I can get used to the feeling).
So, what is the question again?
Mr. Huang ( do you know that surgeons get from Mr. to Dr. then to Mr.?) ( subject of another healthy post.. the type without sex and f**k!)

Hi ,
the above comment is about the post about Saving for Sex etc. The post that thankfully Mr. Wang has cancelled the comment function for!

Dr Huang,
are you familiar with the symptoms of male menopause? I think the public should know about them.

Well done Mr Wang!
Nice job...

I would like to inform the public that Mr Alex Au has not allowed my comment to get through in his Yawning Bread Sampler blog in which I listed my website as a reference to more alternative views about homosexuality.

So this reenforces the idea that he does not allow alternative views on homosexuality besides his own to be heard through his self-censorship.

My blog and forum only removes comments that are vulgar and non-constructive in nature.

This again reenforces the idea in my latest blog post that homosexuals like Mr Alex Au are disconnected from other people, especially those he deems are divergent from his ideals.

Yo Mr Wang, as you look like you're collecting such stuff,

According to Global Voices, this dude is the Indonesian Housing Minister. Spore's Mahbubani has a website - pity it isn't a blog the way we bloggers would want it to be. http://www.mahbubani.net/

People,

please bring any complaints about other bloggers to their respective blogs.

This is a social commentary blog. Not an Agony Uncle column.

lau mintsek,

Yes it is, this is a blog for grievances and complains to be voiced like what Mr Wang is already doing.

I want to complain about Mr Alex Au practising unfair censorship and it affects many people's freedom of speech to get to others.
